Example Projects
The projects below demonstate
our capability in the key areas of building services design within the public and private sectors. We have worked on a number
of prestigious and award winning projects within healthcare and education environments; on housing projects and work to retail
and commercial buildings and on sports facilities and pavillions.
Healthcare:
Intensive Care Unit, Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport The project involved
the upgrading of the Intensive Care Unit. We provided consultancy input for heating, ventilation, cooling, water services,
lighting, emergency lighting, power, fire alarms, call systems, IPS/UPS systems and medical gases. Our design included
consultation with end user groups and stakeholders as part of the scheme development.

Education:
Ynyshir
Primary School, Rhondda Cynon Taf A
new build extension to the existing school for client Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC. The scheme achieved an ‘Excellent’
via the BREEAM assessment, where the incorporation of many innovative design features assisted the credit massing to achieve
that level.

Housing:
Springfield Sheltered Housing, Ynyshir The bedsit rooms were converted
into en suite flats and two platform lifts were provided.The flat heating systems were redesigned to include LST radiators
and concealed pipework. The combination cylinders and cold water tanks were replaced with mains water fed pressurized cylinders.The
lighting, power, fire alarm and warden call system were upgraded to beyond DQR standards.

Sports and Pavilions:
Glamorgan Sports Park, University of Glamorgan
Opened by Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE, this BREEAM Excellent building is a state of the art sport performance measuring
facility, used by the University and professional sports organisations. The prime design function of the main sports hall
was the provision of 6 badminton courts, with basketball, tennis and football as secondary users. Changing and shower facilities
were also provided.

Retail / Commercial:
Food Hall, Builth Welsh Royal Welsh Showground Commissioned as
a design and build contract this new build development on the site of the RWSG in Llanelwedd enabled the participants to prepare,
cook and display products at various events throughout the year. The M&E services included air handling plant, heating,
water services, ventilation, waste plumbing, lighting, power, fire alarms and security, installations.
